Shared Topic: When should a healer let someone die?

As he she mentioned, this is a very loaded question. As a clothy DPS warlock, I am a fragile member of your 5-man crew. Not mage/priesty fragile, but still wearing comfy, non-binding cloth clothes. Sure, I have 2300 armor and  20k (unbuffed) health, so I should last a little longer than your freshly-grown 80. If that boss decided I am tastier than the tank, they can usually one-shot me by simply looking my direction. Of course Healie, I am also usually your last defense to that same boss heading your way. I am probably standing right next to you.

Scenarios that I can think of that a healer should let me die:
  1. You are already dead. You were probably standing in the fire/black smoke or had threat issues with the boss.
  2. The tank is dead and we are all about to wipe. I'll keep madly DPSing, but if you like spending money on repair bills? I vote we kick that lousy tank and re-queue. (I'll be switching to PVP gear).
  3. I have DC'd or gone AFK. Sorry, but the fight was boring and I went for Oreos.
  4. You don't want my soul stone/health stone love after the next wipe. You scratch my back, I'll scratch yours. 
  5. You have the crazy misconception that it's the tank that kills the boss. Wait, that's why we just wiped. You let me die, so the tank was fighting the boss for another 30 seconds while doing 100dps. You're probably the same player who doesn't pass out the class-specific buffs too. Vote kick healer!
Ok, not trying to be harsh, but truly, if a heroic daily is going badly, you leave or kick the player not pulliing his fair share. Healing is a role you pick when you entered the random dungeon. On Malfurion, there's a 11-15 minute DPS queue time to even get into a random dungeon. Having a healer, who likely had a 1-3 minute queue, NOT heal me(?) is only adding insult to injury. Literal salt in my wounds. Go respec DPS and enjoy the wait.

    Thanks for responding to my question. I don't really disagree with you. The one thing that I'll add is that I have a hard time bringing myself to heal a guy who is actively being mean to me - swearing and yelling - without cause.

    P.P.S. I like to give my squishy warlock friends a nice HoT whenever I have a free cooldown (especially if they are low on mana) so they can life tap without worry. (Though I'm not sure warlocks notice happy healy HoTs of love. Do you?) Can I haz healthstone?

    P.P.S. As an affliction lock, I am totally for watching my heals. I feel bad when seconds after my LT, you throw that HoT over my way to have my Haunt come back and over heal. So I double-tap. :) I've told my guild healer to only toss one my way if I get below that 5000-7000 hp that haunt returns.

Legion's Mythic+ Dungeon Final Impressions

Yesterday, Ythisens  posted a question on the WoW forums asking for final impressions on the Mythic+ dungeons. With Legion coming to a close we thought we might try something a little different and collect some specific feedback on things. While we normally are reading tons of posts you guys make and sharing the details internally, we want to try collecting focused feedback to ensure your opinions are being heard. Profession Opinions

IMHO, spend your first points for herbalism or mining in 40 into [ botany ] or 35 into [ mining process ] so that you can gather while mounted.  I hate that the skinning trainer is standing immediately behind one of the leatherworking tables. I am constantly clicking on them.  I 100% agree with everyone that says the fishing profession needs a hat slot. We may need a secondary equipment slot for toons with a fishing ring.  I wish the crafting orders system worked 'better'. To complete "# of (profession) crafting orders" quests, my default is to go to my bank toon, and order low-level items. Gimme 3 bolts of cloth, or 2 handfuls of bolts, or 3 'profession equipment'. I sort of wish that when I specify a personal order, I could see their available recipes. Oh, look my hunter can make ___, lets's order 3 of those?
